Celebrating World Book Day

We’re dusting off the books and getting back into reading.

World Book Day, which take place every year on the first Thursday in March, is a charity funded by publishers and booksellers in the UK and Ireland.

Its main mission is to give every child and young person a book of their own, as well as celebrating authors, illustrators, books and most importantly reading.

Last week, we got involved by reminiscing with our residents about their favourite childhood book.

It's been great to share favourite stories with everyone. One resident told us that her favourite book is Christopher Robin and she still has the book that her mum and dad read to her as a child.

Other favourites among our residents included the classics from Charles Dickens and Enid Blyton.
